Your build has been a huge inspiration for me to keep pounding away at mine. I might not reply a lot but I love seeing every picture posted on here. Makes me want a HiMax..
Thanks my friend, looking forward to you getting your bird in the air. If you have any questions or concerns you can post it on my thread, if we become shy or worried of criticism we will never get anything done.
finished up the elevator trim mechanism, I had too much throw so reworked that and also added a tensioning knob like I used on the throttle. Also started labeling things just In case I forget
I originally left off the lift strut brackets so the wings could lay flat on my bench. To install the front spar brackets I inserted the bolt from the rear and hotglued two Popsicles together and then hotglued the nut to the end of the popsicles, easy peasy! two wings ready for varnish!
I snapped the only cutting blade I had on my bandsaw, so while I couldn't cut metal parts I worked on creature comforts. I made a cup holder to hold my Budweiser when I'm snacking on a slim Jim lol. Seriously tho I just want to comfortable for those long cross countries.
Heres a picture of the budweiser holder I mean soft drink holder installed in the plane, It only weighs like 2 ounces and can be removed with two screws. I made a mockup of the rear thingamajigger on the plans where the rudder cable guides pass through to get an idea of how the nylon guides should be made.
I follow your build with great interest and admiration for you dedication. However I read your post of May 13th two or three times in case I was misunderstanding you. I must say that I find your "friends of color" remark personally distasteful and offensive. A gentleman simply does not make remarks like that, even if they feel that they are in completely melanin impaired company. Further I assure you that there are participants in this forum who are rather darker skinned than you. We are having enough trouble these days without it seeping into this forum, which is one of my refuges from these troubles. I await your withdrawal of your remark.
I really did think that "Gyrojeffro" would apologize. Apparently he thinks the country is "going down" because people OBJECT to the increase of hate, prejudice, fear, and division. I do hope that he will no longer appear in this forum. He was entitled to apologize and stay, I would think, but I personally think this forum should be a place where no one would get their feelings hurt and all would feel welcome. That's just behaving in a gentlemanly manner.
It is interesting to see how one side blames the other even though their side happens to be the one in the driver's seat. Somehow, to them, there appears to be no correlation between the two. Nicely said Tom.
