The build is going very well for you. Sometimes life gets in the way of our builds but you always come back to it and that is a good thing. Keep your eye on the prize at the end of the build. Flying something that you have created with your own two hands will give you a feeling of satisfaction that will continue for the rest of your life.

She sits on her gear for the first time ever. Well sort of, it's on it's main gear anyway, tail wheel still needs to be installed.

Do you really need a full length hinge for the door? I see weight saving there.

I cut the aileron hinges and started to install them. I also clamped the tail feathers to t he fuselage to get them out of the way and to see what they looked like on the plane.

Is that a 1/4 in. aluminum plate that the engine bolts to? It looks like the Fisher system?

It looks great and kinda makes the distance from the main wheels to the tail wheel look a little longer.

Thank you Buzz73

I had a friend coaching as i tried my hand at covering today. My rudder is covered. the fabric still needs shrunk and the tapes put on. we also got the holes drilled to attach the horizontal stab. and the vertical fin.

still working on getting fabric on the tail feathers, I got the fabric on the rudder shrunk. I was going to work on tapes then decided that 3 inch tapes would work best for the edges on the rudder. I didn't have 3 inch taps so ordered some. Then worked on getting fabric on the vertical fin.

I put some of the tapes on the vertical fin and the rudder, still waiting on the 3 inch tapes for the edges. I also got the fabric on the horizontal stab. slowly but surely getting some skin on the skeleton.

As scary a thought that is Puff I sure do hope you are right.
Fabric work can be tedious but I am enjoying it as I get better at it. The fabric on the horizontal stab. is shrunk and I glued the tapes to the ribs. I made and glued some reinforcement patches on the gussets to the rudder as well. I'm still waiting for the 3 inch tapes for the edges though.

after a busy couple of weeks i got to spend a good part of today in the shop. I got a lot of the reinforcement patches on the horizontal stab. and did quite a bit of edge taping. I think the vertical fin is ready for paint now.

did some more tape work on the rudder and now it is ready for pain. I also did some anti chafe taping on an elevator getting it ready to cover. I did learn two things today though. 1. do not use the tip of your thumb to clean ecobond glue off the blade of the scissors, and 2. you use the tip of your thumb a lot when doing fabric work.
