I have not done much on the little piet lately. I did some work on getting the panel installed. I did place an order to ACS for plywood for spar web and leading edge wrap so wing construction can begin soon.

Managed to get some more good doug fir flooring and begun spar construction. Will have to wait on my plywood and other small parts to arrive. My ribs were the first parts i built so they are waiting on spar to attach too.  This is going to be a slow measure 2 time the. 2 more then again and cut deal. Specialy with the back spar since it has to fit into the ribs.

I laid out and jigged a front spar over lunch. Still need to do the tip and glue it. I ran out of wax paper and forgot to pick up more.

Spar looks similar to the himax spar. Looks good. I remember a casual observer make a comment years back when I was helping a friend assemble his plane. He said  "what do you do when the wing breaks?" I loled

Gluing the spar webs used quite a bit of glue on the max spars. I used almost two quarts on the whole airplane. I believe one pint will be enough to finish.

All 4 spars now have the plywood spar webs glued to them. Small parts are now starting to turn into big wing parts

Had some time today so i slid the ribs on the rear spar of the left wing. The stack of ribs are starting to look like a wing.

No it isnt going to make part 103 rotax 503 and douglas fir for most of the wood. It will have an N number which will let me fly in and out of some of the nearby airports that are class D and E to the surface.

The better part of the morning was spent trimming and sanding the wing root rib so the wing attachment brackets will fit through it. Then started jigging the ribs and making sure they are square.

I have been glueing the ribs to the spars. Checking several times to make sure they are square. The little brass nails are pretty small. I sure hope it is square in the end.

There will be play until you add the compression rib members and drag bracing. Then the wing will need to be square. That's not to say that your efforts at squaring at this stage are wasted. Pay some attention to twist as well.  Twist is locked in when you add the nose plywood.  Trust your eyeballs and you'll do fine.

Measured cut and glued the drag braces and corner blocks after a few more checks for square.

Found some time to work on compression braces. Each wing has 4 places with a brace top and bottom. I measured and cut all 8 pieces and glued 6 in place before i ran out of both small clamps and time.
Any of you have a moment when you stepped back and looked at your project and thought "wow i built this" followed by "this is scary i built this"

I am glad that you are able to continue to make headway with your project, it is looking good. It will not be long before you will be able to do the final assembly before covering. That will be a huge event .                 Merry Christmas.
