Phil:
The EGT probes need to be mounted per the ROTAX spec - 40mm-3.9 inches from the exhaust flange for the 447. I modified a 1/8" tubing to 1/8" tubing brass compression fitting to accept my EGF probes.  Sawed the fitting in half and brazed them to the exhaust header.  This allowed me to braze the fittings to the header using silver bronze rod and a MAPP gas torch. I will post an image when I get a chance. BTW some ROTAX headers come with fittings welded on.

Hey Joe,
I simply drilled the header to accommodate the egt probe in clamp.
Satisfied of the result and hope this will work fine.

Phil

Phil that’s the same location I had on my 277 and the egt reading was accurate.

Regarding Avare  and  elevation:

On most Android phones, Avare is going to display elevation from information that it gets from the GPS satellites.  If it's within 100 ft, that's really not bad.
You aren't going to be flight following with ATC or shooting an instrument approach in a Minimax, anyway............
