Most of us have experienced those verticals letting go when the fuselage side is pulled in. I know it happened to me as well. Just get it clamped and glued back together and as soon as you get the rest of the plywood on, it's not an issue. There are more players to help share the stress
You're doing a great job and there have been plenty of Max's built using Okoume marine mahogany. It's all about the glue used in Aircraft and Marine ply, they have to survive a boil test and hold up, 2 hours I believe. Other plywood will just not stand up to that. What is your marine ply?

Hey Korale,

I didn't realize you were going to be there but I happened to walk past the SAAA tent and saw your build. I chatted with the guy who had his helicopter there and he said you had only just left. This was Friday arvo. I came back Saturday arvo but the guys said you weren't there. Shame I missed you. Would have been nice to say gday. Maybe in 2 years time

How did the show go, Korale?  Was there much interest in your build?  Anything else interesting in the Show for our end of the aviation world?

Cheers

Sorry for the delayed reply, Avalon kept me very busy and I had a lot of work to catch-up once it was over.

Sorry I missed you Mickvds, it would have been good to say hi

Got a lot of people asking about the project but only one person who was seriously considering building a mini-max and he had already done a lot of research.

I either got home builders who want to talk various aspects of home building or the general public with varying degrees of disbelief in what I was trying to do.

I wish I had got more time to wander around the various vendors but I didn't really see anything interesting for ultralights.
