I just received my order of George's Fiberglass Main Gear and
am VERY impressed with the quality, look and overall workmanship.
Sometimes you just KNOW when something is superior and better than the original. I can't wait to get this on my HiMax and try it out!
WTG George! The proof is in the testing but I'm 100% CONFIDENT that this is a winner! Anyone building a HiMax could do themselves a
big favor by checking this gear out, in my opinion.

I would like that on my Hi-Max to, but freight to Australia stops that happening.

I bought George's fibreglas gear to put on my Fisher FP101 and had great luck with it.  Together with wheel pants I was able to realize 10 mph improvement.  I was concerned at first with the attachment method to the wooden fuselage but had no trouble at all.  I had the aluminum tube design with bungee cord suspension and after the fourth failure I decided to try something else.  George said it would feel like cadillac suspension and he was right.  It was very smooth on the ground, grass or tarmac.  As you can see, I'm a fan.  So much so that since the FP101 is no more (went into the trees at the end of a runway) the gear is going on the FP202 now under construction.
Another point was weight but after removing the old aluminum gear I compared the two and believe the net weight gain was three pounds.

I had George's gear on my Himax also, and it was worth every penny I paid for it  (and then some, but don't tell him that LOL)   In fact, I've been meaning to call him and see what it would take for him to make a gear I could put on my Avid MK IV.  What do you think George??  Lots of Kitfoxes and Avids out there.   Thanks,  Jim Chuk

Thanks flynlow. If you consider the cost of JDT's Pre-Welded gear upgarde option George's gear certainly seems good value for money.
Is George's Hi-Max the blue and white one with the fibreglass gear?
Does anyone have a nice full picture of the aircraft?

cylinder sticking up, isn't it?  How is the performance, and what is

That’s 277, 377 is two cylinders. The top speed is 80 mph , cruise 72 mph at 75% power the climb is 600 ft/min with half tank (30 lb) and 200 lb pilot. My field is at 450 ft el. You can see the take off clip here
