Have not even clicked the link yet but almost fell out of chair reading your "fess up to it" comment

OK. Just read it.. Glad the reporter didn't (investigate) enough to describe it as a Mini Max!
And we can clearly see it's not an "aircraft" Right? (No N # clearly means ultralight Part 103!).
That in turn means AIR VEHICLE, Right?

I also don't see the FAA guys out there with their weight scales piling the wreckage on to see if it adds to more than #254 or with yard sticks checking the width of the seat is 22" or less!.
Hey,  Hey, Is that a duel 5 gallon tank set up I see there!?

It's kind of funny to that of all the (charges) there was nothing mentioned of operating without a
proper license or non registered vehicle! Guess those statute's are not in the State police violation
hand book. Or maybe their so smart that they know it's an ultralight!!!              LOL

One lucky drunk! But isn't that the way of it is sometimes,  the innocent are hurt, and the guilty uninjured. Interesting how one aileron is wrapped around the brick sign. I wonder which direction he was traveling, and if the wreckage swung around 180 degrees?

My WAG. He came in from the right side of the picture. Left wing is on the ground with a dent where it hit pole, wing still tied to the gear via the strut, then spun in a 180 facing the "landing" direction.

But officer I had to fly...I was too drunk to drive.

That must have been one epic beer run!

Chris

Remember, in aviation death sentences are administered by the laws of physics, not the FAA.
