Tonight I took to the sky in the Vmax for the first time since october 2020. It seems I finally have the Weber progressive carb sorted out and she was purring like a kitten at all power settings. I have all the parts needed to swap out the Weber to a more aviation friendly setup but do to some technical difficulties early on I elected to stay with the Weber temporarily so as not to miss out on any more summer flying!

This flight also served as a test of my new in flight adjustable trim setup. It needs some fine tuning but is a big improvement over the fixed tab.

Enjoy the Video!

Flydog,
I am using a dual lever throttle quadrant with the second lever connected via bowden cable to a moveable tab on the elevator. I can change trim on climb and decent without ever taking my hand off the throttle or stick.

What size cable are you using to move the trim tab on the elevator? Pictures would be helpful; Thanks.

aeronut,

I will get some pictures when i go to the airport this weekend. I believe it is .080" solid wire cable. I had a bunch laying around from another project and decided to use it. I am putting some thought into using flexible cable instead in a pull only setup  with a spring on top to keep tension but will see how I like it as is first.

It was dark in the hangar but to clarify, the cable sleeve is anchored to a elevator hinge bolt foward of the hinge point.
