My tail feathers are covered and taped, Now starting to think ahead to painting so I can start gathering supplies before i need them, I plan on using a quality latex house paint on my bird. Those of you that have use such paint did you prime with anything or use a fabric sealer of any sort first or just apply paint?

Just applied paint. The paint will seal the fabric.  Next time I'll just use straight white latex for the first couple coats, brushed or rolled.

White paint has lots of titanium dioxide, a great uv barrier.

I spent countless hours sanding and polishing my latex paint to a mirror shine.
Next time I'll likely just roll it on, from 20ft away it looks the same.

I used primer then paint but I suspect that using just paint like Bob suggested would work just as well.
