I decided to document my build on YouTube. My intent is to show as much as possible along the journey as reference for those who may decide to build. Enjoy!

Very cool. Seeing builds saves on "studying plans" time.
These planes are long overdue for a build vlog and "how to" series"
subscribed.
Thanks.

Nice starting video. But the actual act of drilling the aileron hinge 1/4 hole was skipped.I m  still geussing how did you prevent the bit dancing all over the place. The hole is well placed though no matter how it was done,

I would suggest a Center Punch first to start the bit center. or a self centering bit.

My two cents:

When drilling holes in members which are as small as we get in these aircraft, I always use a drill press.  You don't need a big one for these aircraft.  A small bench top model, even a hobbyist's drill press is just fine.  It will save a lot of agony.

A self centering drill bit and a cenre drill are two different things. It looks as if both wouldnt work on their own..A centre drill is used on a lathe to start a hole which is then drilled with a standard drill bit.I think a three step process though tedious should work. Centre punch, centre drill and standard drill bit in that order using on a drill press.

I actually used an automatic (spring loaded punch) and then drilled the holes. The small holes are 3/16 and the large one is 3/8.
I drilled the 3/8 with the 3/16 first and then the larger bit centered right up. I must say that the 3/8 hole was drilled with a 23/64 and then reamed to a perfect fit for the bushing. I twisted the reamer a little on both sides until the fit was just right.
