Hi Guys,
This R277 has not yet break-in. I'm not sure if it has cageless bearing in photo shown.
I was thinking this has caged bearing. Can you guys vertify what inside? I was expecting circlip on this side. But it looked like a spring ring?
Need your assistance. Please chime in.
Thanks,
Phil

Phil,

The Stock piston pin bearings in the 277 are caged but I believe most people upgrade to cageless at overhaul.

Remember, in aviation death sentences are administered by the laws of physics, not the FAA.

Chris,

I remember reading somewhere regarding caged bearing issue that failure took placed at only 50 hrs.
So I decided to do update before breaking-in this includes changing carb plastic cup with o-ring.
