My Vmax has an eros turtledeck and canopy setup on it, When doing engine runs on it yesterday with temps in the 70s and the sun beating down I noticed it got very hot in the plane very quickly. I know that there is a "convertible canopy option that can be built but I like the idea of keeping the overhead bit to provide some shade.

If it is permissible, I was thinking of cutting the lexan canopy sides off about 14" ahead of the rear bulkhead and making those sections removable, sort of like opening the windows. Has anyone done this? just want to make sure im not going to muck up the airflow over the tail in doing so.

Chris
