I recently moved to Long Beach, CA from West Michigan. I had to leave my Sonerai project behind and with all the great weather out here I decided it’s time to build again! About 18 years ago I built a 103, flew it for a while and sold it to start the Sonerai. When analyzing what to build and fly, I couldn’t get the Minimax out of my mind.
Going to scratch build this one too. When I built the 103 I always wished I had built the 1100 instead, so now’s my chance. I remember what a pain it was cutting all those gussets so this time I contacted my friend Bob Holman. I put them, and all the other plywood gussets, nose ribs, and aileron LE ribs in CAD and he cut them for me. Hours of time saved there!!! I’ll post some photos.
Anyway, I was glad to see the board is still alive and well.

1100R with the Rotax 277 means no any licences are needed.

I had a 277 on my 103.
I'm a licensed pilot so my plan is to register it experimental.
The plan is to use the Kawasaki 440
