Finished covering the aileron. The left wing is now ready for paint. Keep this up and I might just have to fly the damn thing!

It looks like to me that the tailwheel as drawn on the plans has negative caster. Don't you need to have positive caster?

In order to have a positive caster, we may need to change the plane of rotation of tail wheel as shown in picture below. The question is will it make a big difference in how the tail wheel handles. I had some issues with tail wheel, but I am not sure it was because of the caster angle of the tail wheel.

That is exactly the conclusion I came up with.

But I went ahead and fabricated a tailwheel to the geometry specified in the plans. I figure I can always adjust the caster angle later if it gives me any trouble.

Put the finishing touches on the tailwheel assembly.

1 Lb 12.9 Oz total weight. Not too bad.

This is the max left and right control throw I have with this set up. doesn't really seem like enough. The plans or the manual don't specify, so??? How much is enough?

Varnishing miscellaneous items from the fuselage.

floor board and gas tank support
gas tank support brackets

Stripped the hardware from the fuselage. Getting ready to varnish.

In case you were wondering... all the brake hardware minus the brake drums weighs 2 lbs 2.3 ozs.

And all the hardware for the flaps option weighs 1 lb 7.9 ozs.

My seat weighs 4 lbs 5.6 ozs. Hmmmm... do I really need a nice cushy seat?

Azusa 6" aluminium wheel plus brake drum weighs 5 lbs 14.4 ozs.

kinda stuck at the moment. I need more materials to really progress further so I've just been piddling with the dreaded details.

Kinda hard to tell, but I routed the bottom edges to a 1/2 inch radius as per the plans.

Sanded the nose flat so I can glue the front bulkhead on.

Gutted the cockpit of hardware getting ready to varnish.

More dreaded details, like the fuel access door.

And the static port. I will tidy up the hose and add a small aluminum washer with a pin size hole over the port on final installation.
