I'm wondering if someone could help with mounting suggestions for an Engine Cowl to suit our Himax.

From pictures I've seen of Rotaxs fitted to a Himax it appears that most of these builds have extra plywood coming forward of the fire wall (as per extract from our plans) whereas we just have the Firewall.

We didn't build the fuselage so I don't know what the intention of the original builder was.

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers, Mick

One thing I would consider is the fan in the back of the engine. Ensure you consider it in the build, OR replace the fan tower and shroud with a Free Air Conversion to get your cooling air from the front.  At this point you will need to build your own custom cowling at any rate. There are others who have before.
