Something that you wanted, you got, and that you still have?

Is there a story behind it?

Just used mine; which gave me this idea.

It's a Rexel Gemini office stapler. It was a sixth birthday present. I saw a stapler at school and wanted one. I liked the way it worked and I could understand it even at age 5. What does that say about ultra light flyers (or is it just me)?

Perfect answer!

Does that mean you never valued any thing before you met her?

That would be odd for a keen flyer I think.

I have a old style wooden block plane that my grand father had. He had been a cabinet maker and during WWI worked on aircraft with wooden structure in the RAF. He passed away in 1964. I was a junior in high school. I have no idea how old the plane is but it maybe close to a hundred years old.

The only thing I could think of was this thin sterling silver necklace, just a few years ago I traded a friend a silver dime I found with my metal detector for an indian arrowhead and attach it to the necklace.

I had one of the cox free flight choppers with the 049 engine as a kid I have no idea where that thing ended up lol

We aero modellers love vic smeed. Debutante was I think his first and last nose wheel models. I built the Austrish for R/c.It flew and flew. The engine was a TT GP 07.I still have the oil soaked fuselage somewhere,I will surely take a picture if I find it.

I had a DC dart too.Very nice handling engine.I still have a blue head spitfire which I run now and then.Nothing like the sweet smell of these free flight diesel motors. I have plans for the majorette but then I may build an Airy fairy instead.

The names only are just wonderful. Ethereal lady, flip flop, merbaby, tubletott to name a few.

By the way your construction is super neat.

Hey guys
I am 77 and I have never gotten rid of any of my model engines. I started flying at about 5 with my older brother. Have Brown Jr. Olson K&B, Spacebug Jr.(Cox), Baby bee. Late 40's Fox, Arden, By the way, they invented the glow plug, ball bearing crank and 360 exhaust port. I have the 19 and I has the power of my 4 bolt head Fox 35. Have Ross, and many other brands, like OK Cub. Also manufactured the Manx 250 twin inline 4 stroke 2.5 cu/in back in the late 70's and early 80's. You can Google Manx 250 engine. https://www.flickr.com/photos/15794235@N06/2237190016
Arthur, you are an amazing model builder. You showed me many of them. All of them impeccable!!!

That is an outstanding looking looking engine Bob. I'm amazed by your knowledge and skill. I've always had a hunch that you were smarter than the average bear and this engine proves it.

Hey Dick
Thanks for the compliments. I had a great dad that taught me the machinist trade. Had me running a lathe and miller at about 10. Went on to A&P school in Teterboro NJ back in 62. Then came a life of learning. Still learning every day. Still working on planes and have a small business machine shop. I have been on this wonderful board for many years. Have learned from here too. But most of all, all the great people I have met and some became good friends that I still converse with on a regular basis. Thank you all for who you are and what you do.

Now I know who you are Bob! LOL
With this board,  I'm glad and proud of you my friend.
The truth, I learned a lot because of fine people in this board. Off course, not to mention for many years Alan is behind the 'Bridge'.
BTW, lot of memories and priceless stuff in this thread. Thanks for sharing.
