Hi All,
I'm wondering what is the best to use in regard to sealing around the edges of the lexan windscreen?
What is the way to go here?

Tony:
In my modified minimax wind screen I used a rubber channel from aircraft Spruce. the channel fit around the lexan and the tail part of the strip made good contact with the aircraft. Then I bolted  right through the channel and the lexan with small stainless steel bolts and lock nuts. Ive been flying 50 hours so far and its works great.

I used 1/16" channel rubber stripping. Can't remember where I purchased it.
Aircraft Spruce or J.C. Whitney comes to mind.   Harold

Is that small aluminum restrain in the picture located behind the windshield? and did you place it as a precaution or you were having problems with the windshield?
thanks for your comments, by the way I think you have one of the nicest 1600R design around, Congratulations!

Definitely use something soft and don't try to fit the Lexan to tight. I had to replace mine when it cracked from trying to put it on without any expansion room.

Ricardo,
I hand made the bracket out of thin aluminum as a precaution and it's behind the lexan.  It just seemed like it needed a brace there not only for the wind but also the engine vibration. If you do it like this, one word of advice.  Put the windshield on first, then the molding.  I tried it the other way and I could NOT get the windshield back on to line up to the screw holes. (I originally installed the windshield first)

Thanks for the tip.  Your side lexan doesn´t show the security bolts as in plans ?
I know who owns your plane now... passenger included
