Another Airbike Milestone
My third flight of 2023 was significant; I reached a mini-milestone of 1,202 hours Total-AirFrame-Time in my AirBike Single!
To put that in perspective, an average speed of 55 MPH times the total hours translates into a flying distance equal to 2.75 times around the earth at the equator! That's a lot of flying during the past 25 years, especially in a 350 pound EXPERIMENTAL airplane.
Seven years ago I reached 1000 hours, since then, my yearly flight time has dwindled to about 30 hours. At that rate, and being 78 years old, I likely won't hit 2000 hours before my personal biological time clock expires, hence the mini-milestone.
Prior to the flight I re-pitched the two blade carbon fiber prop. The plane was anchored to my pickup truck making the scene look like an "Airplane Pull" similar to the tractor pulls at fairgrounds.
The photo's file names identify this latest flight. My hangar mate, Chris Duncan took off for a short flight after I landed. I thought this was a neat photo. Sorry about the duplicate in-hangar photos at the end.
