In my rib kit box for EROS 1650, there's a strip of metal about 32" long and 1" wide. It's thick. I can't figure out what it's for. Looking at the directory of parts, the one 32" piece of steel listed is for landing gear. Any ideas? I assume the (aileron) brackets for the ribs (#5 and ends) are part of the hardware kit.
Thank you!

one inch is too wide to be aileron brackets. How thick is it? |

Timy Is the aileron bracket/hinge stock you received 1-inch wide? |

Yes, 1 inch. It's RS 701. It cuts down into 6 parts. Supports aileron at end, root and #5 ribs. Lots of metal work with that portion of the kit. I posted a lot of close ups of my wing rib build on Instagram if you want to compare that piece. I'm posting a lot of build pics to hopefully help others with all the questions I also had. Fyi - The aileron bearing brackets were a little confusing too. You get a metal pipe from Team to cut sections off of. |

Ah I see whats going on. He likely buys the material from Aircraft Spruce and they stock .090 and .100" in 1-inch wide strips. Its been a while but when I ordered it from ACS I was able to get it in 3/4" wide strips making my job easier. You have my sympathy : ) |

Thank you Timyandow. I'm still confused why it doesn't show up on the parts list (except for landing gear). I also thought brackets might be part of the hardware kit. There was no metal pipe or tube in the box. Guess I'll just have to work it out somehow. I'll be checking your photos. Here's mine: https://imageevent.com/eaa839John C |

I think its listed on the materials list for drawing 8. Drawing 16 (wing ribs) references drawing 8 for the bearing bracket.

Here is my rib kit material upon arrival. (I am having trouble posting pictures here) https://www.instagram.com/p/COVYw7SJzQw/ if you zoom in you can see the metal 6th from the left. additional hardware is in that bag. I did not receive a breakdown of materials with this kit. I used the plans Materials List to figure it all out. |

Home Depot has steel strips, 3/4" x 1/8" x 36", for $5-$6. Also steel spacers or bronze bushings which would work as well. Not chromoly, but good enough. |

Those are the aileron supports/brackets. The drawings have them listed as 3/4 but Dave will send a 1" strip as that's all that's available from aircraft spruce. I ended up buying the proper bits from another online retailer for waaay too much money. |
