Wow, I can't believe it. Here it is the second week of December and we have had three flying days of 65 degrees and winds around 5 mph! This is about 20 degrees warmer than what we can usually expect in south central Kansas.
So what is a person to do when the weather is like this? Go flying of course! The attached photos describe the terrain over which I flew December 9, 2020. Most fields are now barren having been harvested during the past two months, others are covered with about 4" of winter wheat grass.
Although the scenery isn't as attractive as it is in springtime, there are still interesting things to look at. Those that caught my eye are the general terrain, a new city park, a friend's country home, H.S. athletic fields, subdivision development, and of course the obligatory pilot photo and a shot of my "office desk."
Hope you enjoy the photos, soon the temps will be below my minimum of 50 degrees for open cockpit flying in my AirBike. However, I am not done flying for the season, I will keep my eye on the weather for more flying opportunities.
