Hi Guys,

I had a great flight today in Maggie Mae...Minimax 1500R. 7 touch and go's and a landing at a friends...and some flying with a couple of gliders at 3000 feet at Stonefeild gliding club.

And then there was some rain...the first for the year. All was fine until I spotted a lighting strike a few kms from my wingtip...so I decided to turn and fly home in the dry...but in the wet....if you get my meaning...LOL..lesson learnt..!

regards Arthur

Yes...there was virtually no wind..and the showers were quite localized. The air was loverly, and I was wearing a t-shirt and my silk scarf.

every day is a great day to fly...at no point in my flight was there a moment of the old saying...

"Better to be on the ground wishing you were flying, rather than flying and wishing you were on the ground..!"

Just trying to add some interest to my story.(and the lighting was real but the wet cockpit wasn't...and I wasnt talking rain..hmmm)

Interesting photos Arthur, in a couple of them the rain looks like a frog-strangler.  Might be a good idea to put a couple of drain grommets in your floorboards.

Arthur; Those are some of the best photo's I have seen of a high flying Mini-Max, nice and close-up. The rain is pretty cool also. Post some more. Bill   Keep the rubber side down!

Kudos to your photographer!  That person did a great job of capturing you and your bird in flight!  You ought to have some of those enlarged, framed and hung in your living room.

Put a female in the cockpit with blond flowing hair and it would be triple XXX and "R" rated.

Thanks Fellas...they are the best photos I've seen of Maggie Mae.

The photo of me waving is about 250feet AGL...and it looks so close.

I think it must be a very good camera....and yes there will be some plastered on the wall ...somewhere in the house or the hanger...maybe both.I am waiting for the originals on disc as I believe the file sizes are very large.

Above my bed is a print titled 'Hornet Territory'.....Teresa told me to put it there....!!

Maybe she loves me.........regards Arthur

I dont think so...it is NOT a traditional scarf....it is a looped peice of silk materal for show only....it cannot reach the tailplane , as it is not long enough to even get to the fin and rudder.

The material will not stretch, and is a fixed length. It has a loop at one end to go around the pilots neck...this loop is loose around the neck and unless it goes forward through the prop...which wont happen because of the slipstream. (the wind).

At best you could call it a white silk flag that looks like a scarf.

Arthur, you look so cool in your leather helmet, goggles, and scarf, that it almost inspires me to give up wearing my ultra-com helmet. But I'm too cowardly, and I'm used to looking like a dork now.
